ABSTRACT:
A maleic acid-modified polyolefin prepared by graft polymerization of maleic anhydride to polyolefin in the presence of a compound having the formula (I): ##STR1## in which each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is independently an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms; and each of X and Y is independently any one of the hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms and a halogen atom. A process for the preparation of said maleic acid-modified polyolefin is also disclosed.
