ABSTRACT:
A MALDI sample plate1is disclosed which comprises a metallic substrate2having a circular groove or moat3. A hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene layer4is applied to the substrate2and a central portion5of the substrate2is laser etched which roughens the surface of the substrate2. A thin polystyrene layer is then applied to the polytetrafluoroethylene layer4and the central portion5.
