ABSTRACT:
A first sectional image corresponding to a first section of an object to be examined is displayed on a screen of a display device. A position of a first line on the first sectional image is designated. First data corresponding to a distance between the first line and a center of the screen is obtained. A second sectional image corresponding to a second section of the object is displayed on the screen. The second section crosses the first section on a line on the first section corresponding to the position of the first line. A position of a second line on the second sectional image is designated. A position of a first point contained in the position of the second line is designated. Second data corresponding to a component in the direction of the second line is obtained. The component is a component of the distance between the first point and the center of the screen. A third sectional image corresponding to a third section of the object, is displayed on the screen on the basis of the first and second data in such a way that a point on the third sectional image corresponding to a point on the third section. The third section crosses the second section on a line on the second section corresponding to the position of the second line. The point on the third section is specified by both of the first line and the first point is displayed at a substantial center of the screen.
