ABSTRACT:
A magnetic recording medium comprising a substrate material and a magnetic layer provided thereon, said magnetic layer containing magnetic particles and a resinous binder, characterized in that the magnetic layer further comprises non-magnetic particles of complex oxides or oxide solid solutions of a SiO.sub.2 or TiO.sub.2 system. Said magnetic recording medium is excellent in running stability, durability and surface smoothness.
