ABSTRACT:
A magnetic recording medium comprises a support and a magnetic layer formed on the support and containing a magnetic powder and a binder resin, wherein an average value of surface roughness values Ra* measured in a very small area of 1 .mu.m.times.1 .mu.m on the support is 0.05 .mu.m or more and is 20% or less of a thickness of the magnetic layer.
