ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides a magnetic recording medium, which comprises a magnetic layer having ferromagnetic powder and a binder dispersed in it and placed on a non-magnetic support member, wherein said binder contains polyurethane resin having a polar group and also contains a diester compound given by the following structural formula as a lubricant, said medium having high repeated running durability and high still durability: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents a hydrocarbon group having 5 to 21 carbon atoms.
