ABSTRACT:
A magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic supporting substrate and a magnetic layer provided thereon by a binder, said magnetic layer contains a ferromagnetic alloy powder having a specific surface area (S.sub.BET) of no less than 45 m.sup.2 /g, and copper oleate in an amount of no less than 0.001 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of said ferromagnetic alloy powder.
