ABSTRACT:
A magnetic head includes a magnetic alloy material suitable for high density recording having a composition of (Fe.sub.x M.sub.y N.sub.z).sub.a L.sub.b, where L is Cu and/or Ag. The provision of Cu and/or Ag in a range from 0.5 to 5.0 at % enhances the thermal stability of the soft magnetic properties of the head.
