This invention relates to a display method, and in particularly, to an output display method for a machine translation system, Display section has a predetermined portion for translated sections, and identifies original sentences or characters when a referring request is made to a part of the translated sentences. Highlight display of original sentences may be scrolled synchronously with the scrolling of the translated sentences or independently.
