ABSTRACT:
A pulsating oil pressure reducing device40for an internal combustion engine has an oil chamber41for reducing pulsating oil pressure in a discharge passage30for carrying oil discharged from an oil pump20. The oil chamber41communicates with the discharge passage30by way of a connecting port41a1and makes the oil stagnate therein. The oil chamber41is connected to the discharge passage30by an air vent passage45through which air is discharged from the oil chamber41into the discharge passage30. The air vent passage45has an inlet port45aopening into a top part41aof the oil chamber41and a discharge port45bopening into the oil passage30at a level above the inlet port45a. Since the pulsating oil pressure reducing device40having the air vent passage separately from the connecting port, air can be efficiently discharged from the oil chamber and the degree of freedom of placement of the oil passage and the oil chamber is increased.
