ABSTRACT:
The pour point of a lubricating composition consisting essentially of from about 5 wt % to about 100 wt % of a Group III base stock and from 0 wt % to about 95 wt % of a Group IV base stock is reduced by incorporating in the lubricating composition an effective amount of a polyol ester represented by Formula Iwherein x=OH or CH2OH; y=H, CH3, CH3CH2, or CH2OH; and R1is an aliphatic hydrocarbyl group having from about 16 to about 30 carbon atoms.
