ABSTRACT:
There is provided lubricants for power transmission which exhibit not only a high coefficient of traction but also a high flash point. The lubricants for power transmission according to the present invention contains an alicyclic alcohol carboxylic diester compound represented by the general formula (1):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R1—CO—O—(X1)m—Z—(X2)n—O—CO—R2  (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?wherein Z is a cycloalkylene group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms; R1and R2are each independently a chain hydrocarbon group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms; X1and X2are each independently a linear or branched alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms; and m and n are respectively an integer of 0 or 1.
