ABSTRACT:
A dispersant-antiwear lubricating oil additive is made by reacting a high molecular weight hydrocarbon-substituted phenol with aldehyde and ammonia or amines having a reactive hydrogen atom to form a Mannich condensation product which is reacted with an alkylene oxide and P.sub.2 S.sub.5 to form the additive.
