ABSTRACT:
A low-weight, dent-resistant hollow structure composed of spaced apart ou sheets and an inner supporting core, the inner supporting core being formed from a plurality of rigid fibrous nets impregnated with a hardened resin, some of said nets being parallel to and contiguous with the outer sheets and other of said nets being disposed perpendicularly to and secured to the parallel nets so as to maintain the outer sheets in a spaced apart position. Such structures are particularly useful in devices for aviation and space travel.
Methods for forming the structure are disclosed herein.
