ABSTRACT:
An object of the invention is to improve yarn feeding conditions to a knitting needle and improve a loop pressing function and a yarn holding function for end stitches in a flat knitting machine provided with a compound needle. In a top portion12of a loop presser11advancing to a tooth mouth10, a knitting yarn holding portion for end stitches13and a loop presser portion14are formed. The knitting yarn holding portion for end stitches13hides a tongue25afrom the yarn22at a wall portion15above the knitting yarn holding portion for end stitches13so that the problem of yarn entanglement that the yarn22fed to a hook24aof the compound needle23from a yarn feeding port20is surmounted on the tongue25amay be solved. A pressing portion16below the knitting yarn holding portion for end stitches13presses the yarn22. The knitting yarn holding portion for end stitches13holds the yarn22outside the end stitch by winding it around it. The loop presser portion14presses the yarn22during the knitting. While hiding the tongue25aof the needle23of the end stitch at the wall portion15, the yarn22can be guided into the hook24areliably by causing the loop presser portion14of another loop presser11to act.
