ABSTRACT:
A locking device for sliding doors and/or windows and comprising a pair of bar or tube assemblies hingedly secured in end-to-end relation and having an internal spring urged slide apparatus engagable with the two tube assemblies for locking thereon in the extended position therebetween, the slide apparatus being movable for disengagement with one of the tube assemblies whereby the tube assemblies are free to pivot about the hinged connection to permit opening of the door and/or window, the slide apparatus also being movable to a first position for locking the tube assemblies in the extended position, and to a second position for precluding accidental locking of the tube assemblies.
