ABSTRACT:
A multi-media local area network capable of carrying out intercommunication such as data communication and transmission of audio and video signals. The network is formed as an optical communication network using interconnectable star couplers and optical link amplifiers to compensate for optical signal attenuation occuring in the communication network.
