ABSTRACT:
A lithographic printing plate precursor comprising a waterproof support having thereon an image-receiving layer, wherein the image-receiving layer comprises anatase-type titanium oxide grains and a binding resin, the surface of the image-receiving layer has at least 20 degrees of contact angle with water and the contact angle with water is reduced to 15 degrees or below when it is irradiated with ultraviolet light; and a method for preparing a lithographic printing plate using the aforesaid lithographic printing plate precursor, which comprises forming colored images on the image-receiving layer of the printing plate precursor by utilizing an ink jet recording system or an electrophotographic recording system and then irradiating the whole surface of the image-receiving layer with ultraviolet light to change the non-image area to a water-receptive surface receiving no printing ink.
