ABSTRACT:
A high-performance liquid-supplying system is provided in which cost reduction can be achieved with a simple system configuration and accuracy in detecting the residual amount of liquid is high. An ink-supplying system1supplies liquid reserved in a main tank14to a recording head3through a subtank16mounted on a carriage6. The main tank14has a structure opened to the atmosphere, and the subtank16has a sealed structure. The subtank16has liquid-detecting means21including a vibrating plate31as a part of a liquid supply channel18or a temporary reservoir16aand a piezoelectric actuator32provided on the vibrating plate31.
