ABSTRACT:
(Trifluoromethyl)pyridine compounds are prepared in high yields and with a high selectivity by using a mercury or silver fluorinating agent, i.e., HgF.sub.2, AgF, AgF.sub.2, in a liquid phase halogen exchange process.
