ABSTRACT:
In a fuel tank level sensor1for measuring a remaining amount of fuel in accordance with a resistance value which is varied by moving a rheostat1autilizing a float1cthat vertically moves according to increase and decrease of the fuel in a fuel tank2, change in resistance value of the rheostat1aincludes a linear range in which the resistance value linearly varies with the increase and decrease of the fuel, and a non-linear range in which the resistance value discontinuously varies under full-tank conditions where the fuel tank is substantially filled up with the fuel. Even upon undesirable increase of the resistance value of the rheostat1aas a result of deposition of sulfides, the sensor1can always detect accurately that the fuel tank2is filled up.
