ABSTRACT:
A liquid discharge device (1) has a pressure chamber (3), a nozzle (4), and a communication path (5) that interconnects the pressure chamber (3) and the nozzle (4). A region that has a specific length L1and lies from the position (8) of the boundary between the communication path (5) of the pressure chamber (3) toward the nozzle (4) is formed as a narrow section (9) that has an opening area S1smaller than the opening area S0of a region closer to the nozzle (4) than the narrow section (9). In the liquid discharge device (1), the narrow section (9) functions to damp micro vibration that occurs in liquid in the communication path (5), and this allows liquid drops having a pre-designed volume and flying speed to be discharged from every nozzle (4) on a board (2)
