ABSTRACT:
A free flowing aqueous defoamer comprised of a solid alcohol, a solid fatty acid, a soap of a solid fatty acid and an anionic and/or non-ionic surfactant which prevents formation of a gelled mass of the solids and provides a free flowing dispersion of the solids in the water, with the solids contents being at least 5%, preferably at least 20%, all by weight, and with such solids having been treated to provide hydrophobic surfaces. A water soluble salt of a metal having a valence of greater than 1, such as aluminum, iron, magnesium, or calcium may be added to the composition to provide hydrophobic particle surfaces.
