ABSTRACT:
To prevent inconsistency in images and support columns from collapsing when pressure is applied from outside in the case where liquid crystal is sealed in under negative pressure in order to prevent impact bubbles from being created in the liquid crystal display device in accordance with a liquid crystal dropping and sealing method.The distance between a TFT substrate10and a facing substrate20is set using first support columns30, while second support columns40are located within contact holes50and do not make contact with the TFT substrate10. When pressure is applied from outside, the second support columns40make contact with the side wall or the like of the contact holes50created in the TFT substrate10, so that the repulsive force of the second support columns40prevents the distance between the TFT substrate10and the facing substrate20from becoming too small. As a result, inconsistency in images can be prevented, and the first support columns30can be prevented from collapsing when pressure is applied from outside.
