ABSTRACT:
For overcoming the disclination issue existing in the wing region of the electrode of the vertical alignment (VA) liquid crystal display (LCD), an improved LCD having a novel pixel structure is provided. The provided liquid crystal display includes a first substrate having a first electrode thereon and at least a second substrate having a second electrode with at least a opening thereon, where the second electrode is provided with a stair pattern having plural steps corresponding to the length of a specific side thereof, so that the disclination of the LC molecules is efficiently inhibited without any additional voltage applying.
