The present invention relates to a liquid crystal composition comprising a compound represented by the following formula (1) and a liquid crystal and a liquid crystal element containing the liquid crystal composition:wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6and R7each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; and X represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom.
