ABSTRACT:
A liquid crystal composition containing at least one compound selected from compounds of formula (1) and formula (2) as a first component, at least one compound selected from compounds of formula (3) as a second component, and at least one compound selected from compounds of formula (4) as a third component:wherein R1is alkyl; R2is alkyl or alkenyl; Z1and Z2are independently a single bond or —(CH2)2—; X1is hydrogen or fluorine; and Y1is fluorine or —OCF3. Also provided is a liquid crystal display element containing the composition.
