ABSTRACT:
A device permitting converting a rectilinear motion into a linear force and ice-versa consists of a helical spring having a retainer to hold the last two loops at each end relatively stationary. The immobilization is achieved either by wedges inserted between the last two loops at each end or by cups shaped so as to receive the ends of the spring. The invention is applicable in regulatory systems.
