ABSTRACT:
The linear guide apparatus includes a guide rail3including a rolling body rolling groove8and a friction apply unit6assembled to the guide rail3. The friction apply unit6includes a unit main body15, a brake member16, an oil pressure cylinder17and a plate spring32. The brake member16is disposed so as to face the side surface3aof the guide rail3and can be contacted with the other portions of the side surface3athan the rolling body rolling groove8thereof. The oil pressure cylinder17includes a piston member20which is structured to be driven in a positive direction to thereby press the brake member16against the side surface3aof the guide rail3and also the piston member20can be driven in the opposite direction to thereby remove the pressure of the brake member16from the side surface3a.
