ABSTRACT:
A dialysis machine is described which has a batch dialysate preparation system comprising a lightweight, substantially noncompliant dialysate tank and volumetrically closed dialysate circuit. The tank is made from a polymeric material, such as polypropylene, with fiberglass windings on the exterior of the tank. The noncompliance of the tank and dialysate circuit allows for greater control over ultrafiltration of the patient.
