ABSTRACT:
A lighting system for a vehicle includes a meter lamp installed in the interior of the vehicle. The meter lamp backlights a dial board of a combination meter. The meter lamp is supplied with a voltage from a battery and lighted up when an ignition switch is closed. An interior lighting lamp is further installed in the interior of the vehicle. The interior lighting lamp is supplied with a voltage from the battery and lighted up when a lighting switch is closed. The system further includes a rheostat switch for adjusting illuminance of the meter lamp and the interior lighting lamp. When one of the meter and interior lighting lamps is lighted up, the rheostat switch adjusts the illuminance of that one of the meter and interior lighting lamps and, when the meter and interior lighting lamps are both lighted up, the rheostat switch simultaneously adjusts the illuminance of the meter and interior lighting lamps.
