ABSTRACT:
A system is provided for combining an illumination control signal and an entertainment signal. At a decoder, the combined signal may be decoded into an entertainment signal that is delivered to an entertainment device, and an illumination control signal that is delivered to an illumination source. The entertainment device may be a video- and/or audio-capable device, such as a TV set, a computer, a CD- or tape recorder/player, a toy, and the like. The illumination source may be an LED system that is controlled by a microprocessor to vary the color and intensity of the illumination produced by the illumination source in response to the illumination control signal. The system may be used to adjust illumination conditions in response to the contents of the entertainment signal.
