ABSTRACT:
A photographic material having a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer coated on a support. The material contains a compound represented by the following general formula [Ia] or [Ib] ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 individually represent an alkyl, alkenyl or acyl group; R.sub.4 represents a halogen atom, an alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or cyano group, or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.5 or --COR.sub.5 group; and R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy, alkyl, alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, aryloxy or amino group.
