ABSTRACT:
A light guide connector is formed at each end of a light guide to connect the light guide to another one. The light guide reduces leakage of light energy even if optical axes of optical fibers of opposing light guide to be connected are not aligned with one another. Optical fibers in the connector are bonded with one another with an adhesive having a smaller refractive index than that of cladding of the optical fibers. Claddings of the optical fibers are melted and solidified with same solvent as the cladding.
