ABSTRACT:
To provide an organic electroluminescent device having excellent durability and having high luminous efficiency and luminance, the organic electroluminescent device includes an organic compound layer containing a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, and an electron transport layer between a pair of electrodes, wherein the hole transport layer contains a hole transport material and an electrically inactive organic compound capable of being subjected to dry film formation and having an energy difference Eg between highest occupied molecular orbital and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of 4.0 eV or more.
