ABSTRACT:
This invention provides a light absorbing dye for silver halide photographic light-sensitive material which is represented by the following formula [I] or [II]: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 which may be identical or different each represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group and may link to each other to form a ring, R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group substituted with at least one sulfo group or an aryl group substituted with at least one sulfo group, R.sub.4 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a carboxy group or an alkoxycarbonyl group, and n represents an integer of 1-4; ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group, R.sub.2 represents an aryl group substituted with sulfo group and R.sub.3 represents an alkyl group.
