ABSTRACT:
Lidding of a sealant layer adhered to a substrate is provided wherein the sealant layer is a blend of ethylene/unsaturated ester copolymer with ethylene/unsaturated acid/unsaturated ester terpolymer, and wherein the sealant layer provides a peel strength of 500 to 2200 g/cm.sup.2 to a wide variety of container materials, with the peel strength being substantially insensitive to operating variations in seal temperature, and the sealant layer has a higher cohesive strength than the peel strength of its seal to the container material.
