ABSTRACT:
The lens apparatus includes a Fresnel lens which can be placed in a fixed and permanent position, e.g., in a fixed frame on the trunk of an automobile, or moved to be within sight of the operator of a vehicle so that when the operator is backing the vehicle so that the lens is approximately perpendicular to the line of sight of the operator in order to expand his/her the field of view. In the latter case, the moving mechanism moves the lens between a stowed position in a housing and an operational position. In another embodiment, the Fresnel lens may be placed between two transparent portions of a bracket which is adapted to be mounted to the trunk of a vehicle.
