ABSTRACT:
A leaf spring of fibre reinforced composite material comprises a longitudinal cross-section having a thickened central zone, adjacent tapered zones and end zones. The tapered zones have curved surfaces comprising convex and concave portions, the convex portions being adjacent to the central zones and the concave portions being adjacent to the end zones. Each convex and concave portion is a segment of a curve defined by the equation
