ABSTRACT:
Disclosed are stable, homogeneous GeO.sub.2 -B.sub.2 O.sub.3 -PbO-Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3 glass compositions having high indices of refraction, low sound velocities, low acoustic loss and high Verdet constants which render them useful in acoustooptic and magnetooptic devices.
