ABSTRACT:
A separator contains thermoplastic synthetic fiber, and acid-resisting oxidation-resisting inorganic filler, wherein the cumulative volume of pores having a pore size not smaller than 1 .mu.m is not larger than 20% of the cumulative volume of all pores, and the maximum pore size is not larger than 10 .mu.m.
