ABSTRACT:
Safety glass is made by laminating to a ply of glass a polyurethane film incorporating a photoinitiator. The exposed surface of the film is irradiated with ultraviolet light which activates the photoinitiator which in turn initiates crosslinking of the polymer. The polymer film retains its desirable mechanical and optical properties while the crosslinked surface has improved solvent-abrasion resistant.
