ABSTRACT:
Laminated composite structural fitting is a joint fitting for transfer of mechanical loads from one member to another. The fitting has a bottom and an end, each for attachment to adjacent members and one or more sides to serve as a structural joining gusset. A flat sheet of composite material is shaped to form one bottom, one or more sides and two or more end pieces and is folded so as to form a laminated structure comprised of a plurality of interleaved layers arranged so that portions of the end pieces overlap at the corners between the ends and the sides of the composite structure to provide a multi-layer, strong corner.
