ABSTRACT:
There is described a method of producing steel machine knives, e.g. of stainless steel, which are through hardened and can be polished to give a consistent visually acceptable surface. Blanks are initially machined, gradually heated to a temperature of the order of 1000.degree. C., and press-form quenched.
