A keratinous fiber treating composition comprising the following components (a) and (b), and an acid. ##STR1## The keratinous fiber treating composition according to the present invention makes it possible to impart a good elasticity to the hair without causing any damage (for example, dryness, stiffness and splitting) thereof.
