ABSTRACT:
Insect populations are controlled by treating an immature form of the insect with a novel compound possessing juvenile hormone-like activity. Such a compound is one having the formula ##EQU1## wherein Y is thienyl, phenyl or substituted phenyl. For example, 9-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2,6-dimethyl-2,6-nonadiene exhibits very good activity.
