ABSTRACT:
A jump rescue apparatus having a jump surface which is made of a tensioned fabric that is carried by a support mechanism formed from inflatable tubes. To achieve dissipation of energy when a person who is to be rescued jumps onto the apparatus, the support mechanism, which is formed by a framework, has a covering extending around it. The support mechanism is elastically yieldingly deformable when a person jumps onto the apparatus. After the covering is relieved of the load of a person, it returns to its original shape. Furthermore, the covering is provided with a plurality of flow restrictors for the passage of air.
