ABSTRACT:
The piston of a fluid ram is provided with an end of stroke braking means comprisng a pusher adapted to contact the end wall of the ram cylinder as the piston approaches the end wall to restrict the flow of fluid from the outlet chamber of the ram to an outlet part. As the ram moves nearer the end the pusher opens a valve in the piston to connect the inlet chamber of the ram to the outlet part.
