ABSTRACT:
A carbapenem derivative represented by Formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or a hydroxy protecting group; R.sup.2 is substituted or non-substituted lower alkyl; R.sup.3 is hydrogen, an inorganic or organic base, or a carboxy protecting group; and R.sup.4 is a compound represented by any of the following Formulae II through V: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are independently substituted or non-substituted lower alkyl.
