ABSTRACT:
An iron-type golf club head1having top3, sole4, and toe4connecting the top and the sole on the toe side, and comprising a face plate7forming at least a part of a club face2and a head body8to which the face plate is attached; wherein the face plate7is made from a metal material formed by forging or rolling and the head body8is made from a metal material having a larger specific gravity than the face plate, and wherein the face plate7has upper (top side) edge surface11, lower (sole side) edge surface12and outer peripheral edge surface10including toe side edge surface13connecting the upper and lower edge surfaces11and12, and at least a part of the upper edge surface11is exposed to the top3to constitute a part of the top as an upper exposed portion15, and the upper exposed portion15is welded to the head body at the top face. The club head has a low center of gravity and the ball controllability is improved.
